Hey hey...

well its been a long time...wow my last entry was june. well obviously things have been really hectic. my blog format is jacked, but i dont care...im finally updating this. hehe.

so what happened since june? hmm, i went to edmonton/calgary and banff for 7 days with my friends Moses, Marianne, Dianne and Marianne. that was some good times! went bungee jumping, white water rafting, went to the water park, went mad shopping, drinking and all the works. summer was composed of WORK WORK WORK WORK WORK.

School
Well it started well. I was on top of my game until WRC. WRC was one awesome conference. met some really cool people and spent some really good quality time with a certain individual. Got to see my friends from the west and it was AWESOME. Since then, it never stopped. Exams, homework, elections, etc.

its been quite hectic lately. not only im running 2 portfolios--outgoing exchange and corporate development, i still have to keep up with school, group projects, tests, exams, meetings and so on. I still got work on friday at RBC and the Ramada. I sooooooo need to get away! I can't wait to go to NC. I want to see my eastern friends and just let loose!

well exams are coming up, last one on december 20. Then National Sales Program. I dont really want to take the bus, however, if its going to be cheaper, i suppose might as well :( Im pretty broke lately. I cant wait to get my bonus at work.

wow am i ever bored. well i think im gonna watch family guy now. peace out-a-town

regards,

torres

woowwww, long time no see blog ppl (and those people who have too much time to read people's blogs) well...so what's new? NLDC was indeed the best conference ever!!! i met soo much special people. i miss ottawa. it was soooooooo nice. i had the bestest time. i wish i had more time to just stay behind shop some more, do some more sightseeing. the conference was really awesome! the food was hella good. puts nc to shame. and the parties *drools* are awesommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....did i mention awesome? its expensive though. if you want more details about the nldc parties...refer to martin aka capitan amazing's blog.

its really really really really tough being active with AIESEC for the summer. i work 3 jobs and i work everyday and when i get home i sometimes have to do AIESEC work. since nldc i haven't had a day off but im sooo excited this sunday because i finally get my first. yey!!! yes im day off-deprived. i've been really active socially though. i've been going out everday. either going out with the boys, going out with AIESEC or going out with the whole gang.

activities since nldc:
-horse backriding (the real horse)
-tyc (lots of times)
-social (2 socials that sucked ass)
-roller blading at assinaboine
-chillin w/ the boys and gurls
-pharaohs (show your panties night woot woot!!)

im really looking forward on the 2ND ANNUAL ALL BOYS NO DRAM TRIP in august with the boys. we're gonna hit up the town: calgary, banff, and edmonton. mad trip with mad shopping with with fun = good times w/ the boys!!!

i wanna go to montreal or vancouver to visit some people. but its just sooo mother bleeping expensive!!!!

if you have time people come visit me at royal bank. all weekdays. yey!! ok i gotta go home...laturs

ok, so i know you're all wondering what i've been up to...and here is a longgggggggggggggggg arse update...

march: well as soon as the regular recruitment for the month of february was up, then i got the news about AIESEC INDIA giving freebie credits to AIESEC CA, so i had to do a whole new recruitment for that. i was busy pretty much on that and at the end (thanks to jane lau and maria falvo) i had one recruited and passed in RB.

i pretty much had to study for exams coz i had to write 5. needless to say that i didnt do to well, but que sera sera--what ever will be will be. could care less now. i cant really do anything now about it. this term was prolly the worst term ever. its not that my courses were hard, (well managerial was pretty hard for me, and i have to retake it FYI). but i was really busy with things this term. not only i had school but i had work and most importantly AIESEC. i know ppl have told me that school comes first but sometimes its hard for the other things to take over my time. i got a portfolio to run and it is my job to do it. who else wud. anyhoots...how do i rate my year overall? well i started really really really well. after NC, i was really pumped to run my portfolio. but in the middle of it, i got overwhelmed. shit happened and frankly, was demotivated to do things. but now that its summer and school is over, i can collect myself again.

lots of good things that happened though. brett was matched and is now in hoe-lland --woot woot; colin is matched with poland and will be leaving end of may. peter is matching with india. lindsey is moving to ecuador for mc. and johnny and andrea is going to toronto to do their mc thang. so yeah, everyone is leaving. and lastly, danielle is going in a CEED and a traineeship. TAKE ME WITH YOU. i am left with mixed emotions. i am incredibly happy for everyone who's moving on w/ their lives. on the other hand, a lil jealous and sad. jealous that they're leaving winnipeg and sad coz i've gotten really close to some ppl that are leaving. so in honor of you ppl that are leaving, here's my message:

LINDSEY

started well with breakfast at Pancake House, yum! it was nice to hang out with the gang again. we hardly see each other now a days. the japanese movie "the grudge" was hella damn scary...omg...thats just in your face horror righ there! Never have we screamed so much and so loud. haha good times.

night time:

mike and eman

moses, eman and i decided that we're gonna watch shrek 2 at eman's house to chill w/ the boys again...unfortunately, shrek 2 wasn't out on dvd yet, so we had to rent run away jury. it was a decent movie. then we went to reagle beagle at ramada to order a round of drinks for us three befor going home. Well we got pretty buzzed (coz im a pussy drinker) coz we had to chug the smirnoff ice in like 2 mins...then we went to 7-11 to buy wedges and wings. this gay guy was working so we decided to 'work it' in an effort to get some hook ups...and guess what, IT WORKED...he prolly hooked us up w/ more than 10 extra wings and more wedges than we bought. haha that was funny. we took it easy because we had a long day ahead tomoz, coz EMAN WAS GONNA GET DRUNK!!! muhahahah, payback is a bitch, yet sweet :D

the wiggles

marketing call:
it went very well. i was late 6 mins because im a dumb ass and can't follow direction. so i had to walk in 6 mins late. however, sharon from scu was really really accomdating and nice. she seemed really interested w/ our progam and we might get a couple internship with this one. i have to give her a call tomoz to set up another meeting.

EMANS BDAY PART II
moses and i decided that we're gonna pregame before we go to the bar so we bought some bacardi silvers and drink it in the car--result: immediate buzz...we met up w/ the gang inside. and started the celebration to get eman drunk. and we succeeded...i think all the pics speak for themselves. eman got drunk and he was fukked with a capital F. damn, i think im in trouble w/ his mom, i hope not. haha we'll have to see :d

SNOWBOARDING DAY AT ASESSIPPI
it was hell of a fun day!!! lots of wipe outs (10 major ones) lots of body ache--I hurt my wrist and tailbone) but nevertheless was probably the one of the most fun things i've done in my whole life. I've only done two snowy/icy thing in my life--ice skating and toboganing, and this by far exceed those two. I'm so happy i went, it was worth all the pain and the money. I wanna go back and do it all over again. I cant wait till the next snowboarding trip--i'd definitely go. So wanna know what happen??? let me tell you.

we started the day dark and early at 4:20 when Mitch picked me up at my house. Mike U. and Martin was already in the car. We drove away from the ghetto as soon as my mother gave me a lil lecture about 'being safe'. We went to Mcdix by the perimeter to meet Cara who was late by 20 mins, but was no big deal. While we were waiting, we drove around the drive through to order breakfast, but "ROB the MCDIX GUY" said that they won't be ready till 5. So we waited in the car for another 20 mins, then Cara finally came and we went to the drive through once more and ordered. Rob the McDix guy was new in his station and seemed to be really proud to be a McDixer (damn what a job!!!) Most of us had Bacon sausage Mcmuffin except Cara the BLT gurl. After breakfast we were on our way. We started with Martin's Acoustic CD. Was filled with roadtrip acoustic songs that touched our hearts (and other places). Mitch the Designated French Driver (coz he wont let other people drive his car) led us to Asessippi. It was filled with excitment and anticipation because Mike U and I haven't snowboarded before and Cara, Martin, and Mitch the French guy claimed that they were "Pros". The road trip was long and trecherous, specially when Mitch decided that he will take some arbitrary road leading north. We took the 'scenic' route where you can find tones and tones of Trees with snow--it was really pretty. He was driving the Malibu at 90km/h in a gravel road as we enjoyed the scenic route of never-ending trees. Halfway the gravelroad (mind you, we haven't reduced our speed) we see this yeild sign at an intersection and asked "what the heck is that yeild sign doing over there" then a few seconds after that we found ourselves in deep awe, because we were stuck in a ditch. (pat on mitch's back) :D...but its not Mitch fault, its the yeild sign. they should really make a more coherent sign. Anyways, we were stuck in the ditch. We tried to push the car a few times and it wont budge. Martin, Mike U and Mike T, dug around the tires to take the snow away. Then we tried pushing again, but still no cigar. Michael (thats me) being the brave individual he is, decided to gather some tree branches and put it under the tires to give wheels traction. It somewhat worked. We tried again and the car moved a few inches. Martin the super humble 'Captain Amazing' (patened pending) looked down the car and realized that the AXEL was full of snow that was why the car was stuck. So w/ Martin's genious discovery and my instinct to gather tree branches, we started taking the snow off the axel of the car using the tree branch of which latur we decided to call the "branch that save the snowboarding trip". A few mins latur, a few frozen gloves, hands and feet latur...we got the snow off the axel and decided to try again. But there was one more problem, CARA doesnt put the car to Reverse but presses the accelerator. So we wouldn't move. Only shortly after that she realized that the car was on park. Then as soon as she realized her blond mistake, we were out of the ditch. YEY for the TEAM!!!

mitch the french guy falling asleep while driving. might be the cause of us going in the ditch

The road once more was long and trecherous. We finally hit highway number 83 (we've been looking for it for a long time) a few hours latur (as Mitch the french guy and princess Mikey sang their throats away) we were at Russel. We went straight ahead and saw the valley...it was breath taking (not really). Then we drove and drove and drove but we cant seem to find the ASESSIPPI sign. We were worried. Then they started bitching at me coz i was such a bad navigator and i was the one sitting upfront. my rebuttal..I KNOW SHIT!!! Then we reached a point where we were actually outside manitoba and was in saskatchewan...we decided to go back..we were looking for junction 482 (of which we never found) then we decided to call the park and spoke to Janet. She gave us direction and told us to go back to russel and we should see signs of Asessippi. Well guess what, SHE LIED!!! we passed russel and still couldn't find signs about asessippi. Then we called her back again, and told us to go back to russel and go to roblin. finally after much of confusion, we got to roblin to look for "the big red barn" (as per janet) then we drove and drove and drove, to look for the "big red barn" but guess what there was no BIG RED BARN, but a WHITE barn w/ RED roof...but after much agony, we made it through.

lunch at the pub...good times

THE FUN PART
the bunny hill was something else. Martin and Mitch being the pro boarder that they are, made it to the top easily. Cara had some problem and Mike u and I had major problems. But quickly solved it by switching to regular stance to goofy. i finally made it to the top of the bunny hill. going down was something else. Then everyone decided that we're gonna go on the chair lift. yey, but the problem was it was all the way at the bottom of the hill and utam and i wasn't just pro like the M&M show. but we managed to crawl our way down through major wipe outs. A few pointers here and there from cara and M&M and it was all good. Mike U and I finally got it and was somewhat ok by ourselves. We went to every hill (except for the boarder's trail where M&M had some wipe outs). At the end, all is well, it was sooooo much fun. I had a blast and would like to do it again.

sleepy heads

The ride home was tiring, considering i didnt sleep for the whole day and was awake from the day prior. We had dinner at subway in Portage la prairie. We got back at the city at 10:30...home sweet home. wat a fun day...i want to go back sooo bad

i woke up the next day with sore wrist, tailbone, chest and arms. but its allll good. LETS GOOO SNOWBOARDING!!!

To be continue: i have to go eat breakfast w/ my friends, bu there's more to come

a quick gander at the year 2003:

.:first year univ ended (april '03):.
happy w/ the choice i made transferring to business as oppose to science. one of the wisest decision i made...gpa went up, better than i expected

.:summer '03:.
work for royal bank/ramada hotel/perkins: damn hella tiring summer...had to make money for school

.:highligh of the summer:.
trip to minneapolis with the boys
certainly worth spending money on. it was a good time to relax and have fun and leave the drama in Winnipeg

.:september '03:. Joined AIESEC
probably one of the best investments i've made. i've gotten too much out of it. if only you can convey to people what they are missing

.:OCTOBER '03: I TURNED 21:.
finally internationally legal!!! treated all my friends out for dinner at Vietnamese restaurant. Went to TYC on the weekend to continue the celebration. Got mad drunk and got kicked out at TYC. The only down side is that i had to write midterms during my bday. Oh well. im happy im 21.

.:november '03:.the black month
this was prolly the toughest month of my whole year. so many things just colided at me from different angles. i guess things happen for a reason. at the end, i came out to be the winner. i've gained so much from it--i learned to love myself more, not put others in front me of all the time, i gained independence and most importantly, i gained myself.

got elected at Incoming VPOGX. I really didnt know why i ran. I jsut remember wanting to go to conferences so i ran w/o knowing what i was gettin myself into. I'm happy that i did, and i dont regret it.

.:December '03:.
the holidays was fun. Xmas was good--i cooked :D...i didnt hang out w/ a lot of my friends, just AIESEC people. No drama, all i did was work and study for finals. Made MAD dough. Got promoted as the Dinner Theatre Supervisor at RMD. Went MAD shopping on Boxing Day. Got ready to leave for NC

.:Jan '03:.
NC--hella fun. my first conference and i sure made the best out of it. i can't wait for NLDC. Made some awesome memories, friends and experiences.

overall, last year was good except for the very last months. it was tough going through them specially by yourself coz you weren't allowed to reach out to people. nevertheless, i truimphed over the obstacles i was subjected to. I am a better person because of it.

this year has been extremely well. After NC, i came back with such drive and momentum. I was always happy and i now have an optomistic view in life. I'm living each moment of it and not lettin any moment pass me by. I am happy for the new friends i've made through AIESEC. I hope things only get better from here. I dont wanna go through another november in my life where i had to put face and pretend i was happy. i can say it over and over again, IM REALLY HAPPY where i'm at. yes there are some bad times, but the good times surely offsets that. i do wish that i see my friends more often, but we all gotta do our own thing for now. Maybe next year, we can all chill again and look back at this year and say, that was some fukking joke!

>>as of tonight: i cant wait to go snowboarding tomoz. i'm afraid im gonna hurt myself but im stoke coz this is the first time im gonna be doing this. sad to say, THIS WILL BE THE THIRD TIME i will be doing something snow/ice related. i hope this is a started of my de-fob-ation process ;)

i gotta drive my sad brother to his stupid friends house...now im contemplating, should i get bk or chicked at 7-11??? hmm we'll see...i cant wait for tomoz
